Do You Love Your Dog?
Join award-winning authors Allen and Linda Anderson for a celebration of the special connection women have with their dogs. The Andersons will share dramatic true stories from Dogs and the Women Who Love Them: Extraordinary True Stories of Loyalty, Healing, and Inspiration.
You can talk about and show photos of your dogs, if you wish. You’re also invited to bring a photo of you and your dog, side-by-side, to enter in a woman-dog look-alike contest. The winner, drawn from the look-alike photos, will receive a gift basket from MadCat Pet Supplies in Madison on Willy Street, Mineral Point Rd., and Monroe St. O Magazine! has recommended this book, and it is on the Oprah.com website. Betty White, Wendie Malick, Vanessa Williams, and American Humane Association, among others, have endorsed it.
This event will also benefit local animal rescue groups and organizations.

The Pick of the Litter of New Books about Our BFFs
"The rescuing works both ways again in Allen and Linda Anderson's Collection, Dogs and the Women Who Love Them: Extraordinary True Stories of Loyalty, Healing, and Inspiration, as canines who've suffered abuse, neglect or misfortune seek and comfort humans who've endured the same."
--Karen Holt, O Magazine and Oprah.com website
“When asked, ‘Betty, you never remarried! How can you live alone?’, my answer is simple: My golden retriever, Pontiac, is my saving grace.”
--Betty White, actress and author
“These heart-warming stories of dogs and the women who love them solidify the fact that the animal-human bond is so unique and necessary for enhancing one’s life. You’ll find a bit of yourself in each tale.”
--Vanessa Williams, actress and singer
“Perhaps because my older sister was a collie, I am never more myself than when in the presence of a dog. Kudos to Allen and Linda for sharing the myriad of ways dogs bring joy, healing, and gratitude into our lives.”
--Wendie Malick, actor and advocate
“Once again the Andersons have produced an inspiring book for women who love dogs, this time packed with stories and meditations that will make you smile, weep and be moved by scenes from Katrina rescues to the dog that dazzled David Letterman on his Late Night show. If you have a special relationship with your dogs this book is for you.’”
